Production Scotch Guard
With all the equipment and traffic a set can receive during an entire season of shooting, much can go wrong. Scotch Guard for all of the carpet, rugs and upholstery on the set can be a life saver when something goes horribly wrong.
Let's say a sofa wasn't Scotch Guarded in advance, and somebody accidentally spills something on it during a shoot. Now the stain won't come out. So now you have to buy a new sofa to replace the old one. But what if you can't find a matching sofa? Seriously, you might have continuity issues and you may have to re-shoot any scene in which the original sofa appeared. A Scotch Guard application in advance would have prevented this.
We're not saying you should Scotch Guard everything and everyONE on set, just the more crucial items that would really be affected by an accident.
This can save a lot of money on regular cleanings and emergency cleanings if something crucial to the shoot is stained during a production.
